Flood Warnings This Weekend

Lancashire County Council officers are preparing for bad weather with further flood risk forecast for the coming weekend

Highways teams are out visiting as many local hotspots as possible, to ensure highway drainage systems are free-flowing.
Other staff members are inspecting and clearing local trash screens in line with the council's current code of practice
Highways Managers have extra resources on stand-by for the weekend, including staff and equipment, to deal with public safety issues that might arise in the highway. From mid-October to Mid-April, the emergency stand-by rotas are supplemented by gritting duty staff (provided no ice risks need attention).
Communication channels between council staff and the police, fire & rescue service, water companies, the Environment Agency, District & City Councils, and all our emergency planning teams, are already in place to cover evenings and weekends, so that any significant response that may be needed will work as effectively as possible.
The Met Office has been watching the coming weather carefully for a few days and has issued a more accurate warning (attached). It is possible that they may update warning information again so do look out for updates and revisions over the next few days.
