Ben Wallace MP to Open New Toddler and Young Children Play Area in Catterall

Ben Wallace MP will officially open the new toddler and young children’s play area on Catterall playing field on Friday 28th April at 4pm and the parish council is hoping for a good turn out by local children to help Ben cut the ribbon.

Work began on installing the new play area at the end of February and, despite some very wet weather, installer Playdale managed to finish the job in time for children to enjoy the new facility during part of the Easter holiday.

The play area, which is the first phase in an ambitious development plan for parish council owned Catterall playing field, has been funded by a grant of £30,000 from the Lancashire Environmental Fund together with money secured by Wyre Council from developers as an alternative to public open space provision at the nearby Gryersdale estate and a small amount from the parish council.
