Chairman's Annual Report, 2010
Catterall Parish Council has once again had a very busy and productive year, work has continued towards us attaining Quality Parish Council Status which, if successful, could lead to the Parish Council taking on more responsibilities within the Parish which could bring great benefits to Catterall in the future. The operation of the second CCTV also came online and has proved successful in assisting the Police to observe activities on Garstang Road and Cock Robin Lane. The Parish Council has carried out drainage works at the North end of the playing field in order to try and alleviate the ongoing flooding problems around Whitewell Close and properties abutting the field in Meadowcroft Avenue. Tim, our Parish Lengthsman, has once again produced some sterling work within the village and on behalf of everyone I would like to thank him for his efforts which are much appreciated. Thanks go to the Police for their support in the village and regular attendances at meetings and to Gillian, our Clerk, no only for her work output but also for trying to keep me in order!! Finally to my fellow Councillors for their unstinting work and the support they give to me as the Chairman and the Parish. Thank you very much.
Having got the formalities out of the way, I note that once again it is time for the event of the year. Yes. It is Catterall Gala time and this will take place on Saturday 5th June commencing at 1.30pm. This is an opportunity for villagers new and old to come and join in the day and I sincerely hope that you will come out and support this village event. The Gala Committee works very hard to ensure that this traditional event continues to flourish. The Parish Council is grateful to them for the tireless work they put in, thus ensuring the success of the Village highlight. Come and enjoy and I hope to see you there.
Could I on behalf of Catterall Parish Council once again thank residents for your continued support.
